Separate Code from Documentation Rules

Apply code-only rules to code and documentation rules to docs.

Intermediate

Goal

Prevent code-specific validation requirements from being applied unnecessarily to documentation-only changes.

Repository Context

This repository contains application code and documentation.

├── tests/
├── docs/
├── package.json
└── AGENTS.md

Code changes normally require:

Code exampleMarkdown
pnpm lint
pnpm typecheck
pnpm test

Changes limited to docs/ do not require the application test suite.

Documentation should still preserve valid Markdown and working links.

# Project Instructions

## Development

- Use `pnpm`.
- Keep application code in `src`.
- Keep documentation in `docs`.

## Validation

For every repository change, including documentation-only changes, run:

- `pnpm lint`
- `pnpm typecheck`
- `pnpm test`

Your Task

Separate validation guidance for code changes and documentation-only changes.

Do not require the application test suite or TypeScript validation when a change is limited to docs/.
